Students will receive an insurance certificate after they have completed 3 or more hours of instruction.
Present the certificate to your insurance company and it may qualify you for an insurance rate reduction.
Many insurance companies also require that the driver complete an approved Defensive Driving Course prior to a
rate reduction. Check with your insurance company.
I began as a behind the wheel driving trainer in 1981 at Catalina High School and continued providing instruction on an off and on basis at Baboquivari and Sabino High Schools until 2006 when I retired from the classroom.
I discovered that in-car training was fun and rewarding because the students are motivated and excited about gaining their license.
Sonoran Driving School opened in November 2006. Since then I have trained hundreds of students.
Thank you for considering Sonoran Driving School.

Having a TCC means that you will not have to take an MVD road test. In order for a student to obtain a TCC they must complete a minimum of 30 hours of classroom training and/or 10 hours of behind the wheeltraining and pass a school administered road skills evaluation with a score of 80% or higher.
Any person applying for an AZ driver license and is in possession of a TCC will not be required to take an MVD road test/written test. In stead, students whom have completed behind the wheel training at an Authorized Third Party may be interviewed by MVD personnel to gain an understanding of the applicant's experience and the quality of the training they received.
As always, AZ MVD reserves the right to test any applicant for a road test/written test.
The TCC is valid for one year from date of issue. The applicant should present the TCC to the MVD service clerk at the time of application for a driver license.
The online registration feature is currently INACTIVE .
There is a 3% fee added to the price of all packages when a credit/debit card is used for payment.
Please be advised that pick up does not include Rita Ranch, Vail, Sahuarita, Catalina, Marana, Continential Ranch, and west of the Tucson Mtns. Arrangements can be made for more convenient locations for pick up and drop off.
Scheduling via the schedule2drive.com site is UNAVAILABLE at this time as the training schedule is FULL through July 10th. The demand has been great now that school is out and it is just not possible to schedule any more students. July schedule will be posted on the 10th of that month. Thank you for you interest and I hope to see you in July.
